Eduspace Update (9/11/2008)
Eduspace is now running again for pre-lecture assignments. About 50 CHEM 1310 students completed assignments this week without problems.
The first pre-lecture assignment is due this Sunday at midnight (see below).
For those that had problems registering for Eduspace prior to the shutdown, Eduspace has registered you and sent you an email containing your username (e.g., kjones7@gatech.edu) and temporary password. You will need to enter your Eduspace passkey that either came with the text bundle or one that you purchased separately directly from Eduspace.
Because the Eduspace technical problem took longer to resolve than expected, we will not require that the following problems be completed. Rather, we will call them practice problems and completion is optional.
PRACTICE PROBLEMS:
Chapter 3.1, 3.2, 3.3; Chapter 4.1, 4.2, 4.3; Chapter 12.1, 12,2, 12,4, 12.5; and Chapter 13.5, 13.9, 13.10. Completion is optional. **Chapter 2 problems 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 were previously recommended but are not graded.

SCORING:
The revised scoring for Eduspace will be as follows. A maximum of 50 points (2 points times 25 questions) will equate to 5% of the course. Thus once 50 points are achieved, no more problems are required for the balance of the semester. Some students already completed some of the prior assignments and those points can be used towards the 50 point maximum. Any additional points earned past 50 will be for practice only and not count towards the 5% course total.
REMINDERS:
1. Check "My Grades" to verify that answers were submitted. If you see a "lock" symbol, that means that the answer was not submitted. Go back and complete the assignment and submit the answers.
2. Eduspace is also a resources for the following
a. Practice Exams (organized by Chapter)
b. Student Solutions Manual (organized by Chapter), which are detailed solutions for the odd number problems at the end of each textbook chapter. End of Chapter problems are the basis for the WebAssign assignments due on Thursdays.
3. If you purchased the bookstore textbook bundle, your passkey was included with the package, "Eduspace Getting Started Guide for Students". The passkey is on the inside back cover.
4. If you purchased a used textbook, you will need to purchase the Eduspace passkey directly from Eduspace by calling 1-800-732-3223. Purchase only the passkey.
