What is Plagiarism? Plagiarism is passing off the ideas or words of another as one's own, without crediting the source. <= That sentence would be considered plagiarism from Webster's Dictionary (except credit is given). Some infamous incidents of plagiarism are listed here. Some famous and unfamous people have faced humilitation for plagiarizing. Please don't join them by, for example, copying your lab partner's lab write-up. Automated plagiarism detection is widely used (here).
